How to access the online tool

Mana Restore is a website that provides information and resources to gamers about mental health and wellbeing. It's part of the Mental Wealth Project, which is a mental health literacy education programme for young people that promotes learning about how to look after your mental health to create mental wealth. It has a blended learning approach of face-to-face workshops and online information and support through the Mana Restore website.

The Mana Restore site is designed to appeal to young gamers. On the home page there are badges with topics including:

  • restore – feel good
  • mana restore for Pacific Peoples
  • get help now
  • healthy gaming
  • screen time tips
  • sleep better
  • online bullying
  • digital detox
  • problem solving skills
  • online tools
  • tips for friends and whānau

The site sets out to give young people and their families the knowledge, tools and skills to reduce stigma, improve wellbeing, spot warning signs of mental distress, and improve access to the right care and support when they need it.

PROS CONS

✔ Good range of features and access to helplines.

Would be great if you could click on the badges to access what's on offer. Currently you must click through the arrows multiple times to get to the areas that are not shown on the front of the home page, such as digital detox.

Includes a lot of written information which may be a barrier for young people if they're unable to read.
