The severity of psoriasis can be assessed using the following 2 tools:
- Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI)(external link) uses body surface area with the extent of redness, thickness and scale to produce a score from 0 to 72.
- Dermatology Quality of Life Index (DLQI)(external link) consists of 10 questions assessing the effects of psoriasis on various aspects of quality of life. A score of 0 (not impaired) to 30 (severe impairment) is produced.
