Anyone who is eligible to get their flu vaccine is urged to get it now. The flu vaccine offers the best protection against severe infection needing hospitalisation. Recent COVID-19 restrictions resulted in fewer people getting the flu over the last few two years.

Now we're all out and about it is likely more of us will get flu this winter because our natural immunity to flu is lower than usual. This means more vulnerable people are at risk of serious illness or death.
