Clinical review

Date of review: March 2018
Comments: This app is useful for people with established heart failure, especially those with moderate to severe HF, on multiple medications. Overall this is a good app with a wide variety of features, in fact probably more features than you would ever need. It would be ideal for someone with moderate or severe heart failure where that is their only or main medical problem. Especially good for the initial diagnosis of that condition where things are still in a state of flux and regular monitoring is needed. However it’s almost too extensive for regular use and I can’t see someone using this for extended periods of time, especially with the need to keep it running and connected to the internet, whereas it would be very useful for short periods of use during exacerbations.
Safety concerns: None.
New Zealand relevance: Uses US formulary for medications.
