PROS CONS

✔ Easy to use and navigate your way around.

✔ Good clear graphics.

Can also return to previous sessions.

Session by session sequential structure is very useful.

✔ Good balance of theory and practice exercises.

✔ Informative readings.

Clear to use and coordinate with client and therapist.

✔ Assessment tracks progress over time.

Does not say what the assessment tool is.

✘ No statements regarding risk to clients or who the app is not suitable for.

✘ More complex concepts do require therapist input.

✘ References for further topic readings would be good.

Comments: This app is most useful for people who experiencing ongoing PTSD symptoms, to help them with processing trauma and recovery through decrease of intrusive thoughts and emotions. Addressing these strong effects may lead to escape and avoidance which thereby prevents their processing. Overall the app has good presentation, is user friendly and has good content – it is likely to appeal to users and provides a functional treatment tool.
Safety concerns: A cautionary statement is needed regarding who this app might not be suitable for, and a statement about personal safety and risk.
New Zealand relevance: Suitable for a New Zealand audience, but may not be appropriate for cultural groups unless adapted.
