Knee Exercises app
Knee Exercises app
- An app with targeted exercise for knee pain, for people who have an understanding of their current knee injury and are already recovering.
The Knee Exercises app is designed to assist users in improving knee health and strength through pre-populated exercises. The app offers a range of exercises aimed at enhancing flexibility, stability, and mobility in the knee joint.
The app offers clear instructions and demonstration videos so users can see how each exercise is performed, and ensure they're completing the exercises correctly.
The app includes features including progress tracking, customizable workout plans (although these need to be purchased for $3.99), and reminders to ensure consistency and adherence to the exercise regimen. The 'simply statistics' tab enables users to view and track their completed programmes. The knee exercise plans have videos for each programme which also have a sets and reps counter. Additionally, there's a countdown timer for rest periods between reps.

✔ Great video examples. |
✘ Very generalised programmes that are not tailored to individuals – although you can purchase the ability to create your own programme (but even then, you would need to build it yourself). |
Clinical review

Comments: A good app for people with low-level, non-specific knee pain who are wanting to have a video catalogue of rehab knee exercises. This app is targeted towards people who have an understanding of their current knee injury and are already recovering, someone who is managing a chronic knee issue, or anyone who is aiming to maintain optimal knee function, Users can gain insight to correct techniques for performing knee exercises. They will also have populated sets and reps curated for them. Video examples of exercises are great to ensure patients understand the movements, and sticking to the programmes/plans will likely see users increase their knee function
Safety concerns: One safety concern is that this app makes the assumption that users have low level knee injuries, or are looking to manage chronic, grumbly knees.
Users should take caution if they have significant knee injuries, or any injury that has been undiagnosed. The very generalised programmes are not tailored to individuals – although you can purchase the ability to create your own programme (but even then, you would need to build it yourself).
New Zealand relevance: Yes. This is a good app for users that already understand their low-level knee injury.
