Comments: This app is great for anyone looking to connect with a community of other people who have psoriasis. You can access the forums to discuss a range of different topics to do with living with psoriasis, including non-medical topics. The app also has a database of articles and stories about psoriasis and living with a chronic condition. These articles are published by the makers of the app, and the articles I have looked at have had their medical information fact-checked by a medical professional. The wide range of topics covered means there is content for everyone. Some of the articles are not specific to psoriasis, however they still contain helpful tips and advice that are relevant for people with psoriasis as well as other chronic conditions (eg,. “7 tips for talking with friends and family about your chronic illness”). Keep in mind that the community and writers of the articles are predominantly based in America, and so some of the treatments mentioned may not be available in New Zealand, and the topics about funding and insurance won't apply..
Safety concerns: Content on the forums is all user-generated, and should not be relied on to be medically accurate.
New Zealand relevance: Other members of the community are often not based in New Zealand, so sometimes they refer to medicines by brand name, treatments not available in New Zealand, or funding issues specific to their region. Articles and other content produced by the app also sometimes refers to medicine not available in New Zealand, or brand names not used here.
