Comments: Parentland is a useful app for parents and caregivers, aiming to give personalised advice about their children based on their temperament and individual needs. The app contains sections on sleep, behaviour and eating. Within each section there's useful evidence-based information for families in an easy-to-read format. Parents are encouraged to create their own ‘game plan’ to support aspects of parenting they may be finding challenging. There are strategies to support game plans built into the app which are appealing and motivating to children, such as Farty Monkey.
Safety concerns: None.
New Zealand relevance: Yes. This is a New Zealand-based app and is the brain child of clinical psychologist Nigel Latta. The app was developed by a team of clinical psychologists and family therapists with extensive experience working with families in New Zealand.
