How to get the app

The Me v PMDD app allows you to track your mood, physical symptoms and treatment related to your menstrual cycle. PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) is a more severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). The app has the following features:

• Symptom Tracking.
• Treatment Tracking.
• My Data.
• Self-Love Journal.
• Resources.
• I Need Help Now.

You begin by selecting the symptoms you wish to track under emotional, mental and physical categories. You enter a daily rating overall about how you're feeling, and then rate each of the symptoms you've selected to monitor on a sliding scale of 1 to 10. Under the ‘My Data’ section, you can view your daily tracking of overall mood and then individual symptoms in graph form, and you also have the option to select a date range to display results. You can record past and current treatments under Treatment Tracking. There's a Self-Love Journal where you can make notes, as well as a Resources section featuring a blog, PMDD information and frequently asked questions. Peer Support is available to users in the US.
The app is designed by a young woman with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), her mother and the International Association of Premenstrual Disorders.

Comments: A simple and easy to use app designed to allow you to track your menstrual cycle and associated symptoms, and may help identify and support a PMDD diagnosis. Users may gain a deeper understanding of how their emotional and physical wellbeing is affected by their menstrual cycle, and what is helpful in managing symptoms. In turn, you may feel a greater sense of control and motivation to focus on self care, and seek further support. Daily tracking charts presented in graph form enables patterns to be easily identified, as well as providing information that can be shared with a health professional. Overall, a helpful app which makes tracking easy.
Safety concerns: None.
New Zealand relevance: Yes, the app is relevant to an Aotearoa New Zealand audience but not all resources and help sections are applicable to New Zealand-based users.
