How to get the app |
The Bountiful Pregnancy app is a pregnancy tracker and source of pregnancy, baby and postnatal information for pregnant people in Aotearoa New Zealand. It contains week-by-week information about your growing baby and about changes happening to your own body. It also has pregnancy and birth education information and useful interactive tools for pregnancy, birth and postpartum planning.
- You can see how your baby is growing and at what stage of development they're at, eg, which organs are developing and how their face changes.
- The app also shows expected measurements and compares baby's size to everyday objects such as a Tamagotchi or burger.
- You can also see what changes are happening in your own body with an image that changes week by week.
- Reminder features show expected appointments that are due week by week including ultrasounds, midwife appointments and diabetes testing. You also have the option to add extra appointments personalised for you and sync these with your phone calendar.
- The app provides education on looking after yourself during pregnancy, including nutrition, pelvic floor exercises and preparing for breastfeeding. It also includes education on common and uncommon pregnancy complications or problems, and education on different types of births, how to prepare for these, signs of labour, birth complications, how to naturally induce labour and pain relief options (both medicinal and homeopathic).
- The app also has information on postnatal care, including wound care, pelvic floor care and expected postnatal bleeding, and the postpartum period, including different types of feeding, post birth self-care, and returning to intimacy with your partner.
