How to get the app

The Baby Tracker – Newborn Log app is an all-in-one feeding, expressing and baby tracker, and diary. You're able to track, and time, breastfeeds, expressing, bottle and solid feeds as well as tracking growth, milestones, sleep, illness and medications.

  • It offers the ability to use the timer when expressing and breastfeeding and keeps a running log of expressed milk available.
  • You can set alarms to remind you when you're next due to feed, change a nappy, or check your baby's temperature, and you have the ability to set these as reoccurring reminders, eg, to express every 3 hours.
  • The app also offers the ability to review your day in a timeline format and can review weekly and monthly data in the form of graphs, including growth data that offers centiles and can be adjusted for prematurity.
  • Aside from the practical features, this app can also be used to keep track of milestones and activities such as laughing, reading and tummy time, and you're able to add photos to remember the moment.

Comments: This is a great free app to track and keep things organised amongst the chaos of having a baby/s or children. It's also a good way to remember and document important milestones or moments.
Safety concerns: The only safety concern is that parents can monitor growth graphs without the supervision of a medical professional who can interpret them and guide them on what to do if they have any concerns. It's important parents do not act on changing lifestyle habits or diet based upon these graphs without discussion with their family doctor or well child nurse.
New Zealand relevance: Although the app is US-based, it is still relevant to New Zealand users.
