A tool by the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) to assesses whether any of these common risk factors could apply to you. The osteoporosis risk test takes just one minute to complete.

Know your bones(external link)

Know your Bones is an online bone health assessment that you can do to find out your risk of bone fractures. The tool asks you a series of questions and produces a report explaining your risk results. It provides recommendations for any areas of risk identified. You can discuss this with your doctor.

Bone health risk factor test(external link)

This is a list of questions that helps to identify if you have risk factors for osteoporosis. It has been designed to be consumer friendly so that people can answer the questions in their own time or with assistance and then take this to their healthcare provider for discussion about a bone health assessment.

Fracture risk calculator(external link)

The Garvan calculator takes into account risk factors such as previous falls, bone mineral density and prior fractures to estimate your risk of bone fracture. The results produced by this calculator should serve as a guide only. If you are concerned about your fracture risk, it is also important to consult your doctor. FRAX fracture risk assessment tool(external link)

The FRAX® tool has been developed to evaluate your risk of fracture. The calculator adjusts for each country based on population data. However, the Garvan tool is better at taking in to account whether you are having falls or not.
