My Heart Check is an online screening tool by Heart Foundation, New Zealand that helps you understand your heart health. It collects information from you and uses this to calculate your heart health score. It's a way to find out your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.
It also gives you practical tips on how to lower your risks, for example changes to your waist measurement, diet, exercise, alcohol, smoking, blood pressure and cholesterol.
You will need to provide information such as, your:
- age
- height and weight
- cholesterol levels (lipid profile)
- blood pressure
- medical history.
My Heart Check is NOT suitable for some people
- This tool is not suitable for anyone who has:
- had a heart attack, stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA)
- angina or peripheral artery disease
- a stent or have had heart bypass surgery
- a serious mental illness, such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, severe depression or schizoaffective disorder.
- My Heart Check is designed for people aged between 30 and 75. You can use it if you are older or younger than this, but your results may not be as accurate.
