Comment: Monitor Your Weight enables the user to set weight goals and monitor weight of one or many people. The app suggests an ideal weight and recommends the amount of time needed to reach that target. Although simple the app has a long set up and is not intuitive for users. Includes some unique features like being able to have multiple profiles on one account. Recording and monitoring changes in weight can be useful for users wanting to lose, gain or maintain weight. The ability to have multiple profiles on one account may be of use for individuals who do not have access to the app or wish to be accountable to a personal trainer or within a group setting. Although simple the app has a long set up and is not intuitive for users.
Safety concerns: Accuracy of measurements dependent on accuracy of users weight scales.
New Zealand relevance: Yes

Comment: A very simple app that logs and tracks weight loss/gain. Assess energy requirements needed to achieve target weight in a pre-defined period of time. Both target weight and time frame to achieve it can be set manually. There are no alerts even when setting weight goals that result in a very low BMI eg 14kg/m2 prompting some concern.
Safety concerns: Some risk, as there are alerts when setting low target weight.
New Zealand relevance: Allows users to individualize measurement settings. There is provision for measurements of weight and height to be set to metric units such as cm and kg, which are used in New Zealand.
