Comments: Buddhify app is a mindfulness app that provides the user with over 200 audio tracks of guided meditations for use in many different situations and environments. Users can learn mindfulness skills and it is designed to give users the ability to practice mindfulness on the go.
Overall, I really love this app. It presents mindfulness in a way that feels contemporary and exciting. It felt great being able to practice mindfulness while out on a walk or on a work break and I noticed significant changes to my mood as I played the tracks. As well as more traditional forms of mindfulness, such as mindfulness of breath and body scans, this app incorporates compassion focused mindfulness into a walk through town or a work break, for example. Psychologists using this app with clients have reported that it is great for younger people as it incorporates mindfulness into their regular activities. A great example of this is the section of mindfulness exercises using your phone to develop awareness of emotional reactions to social media. I would recommend this app to anyone interested in trying mindfulness and think it is very good value for money.
New Zealand relevance: No content tailored to a NZ audience and, although accents of voices from a wide range of English speaking countries are used, those from New Zealand and the Pacific are not.
Safety concerns: None.
